Violet Geneva (Minnick) Hare, 84, of Rockwood, PA, went to be with the Lord, Thursday, August 22, 2019, at Somerset Hospital, Somerset, PA. Born June 5, 1935, in Greenville Twp., PA, she was the daughter of the late Earl and Lavurta (Blocher) Minnick. She was also preceded in death of her husband of 40 years, Sylvan Webster Hare; daughter-in-law, Ruthanne (Helmick) Hare; three brothers, Theodore, Anthony and Charles Hare; two sisters, Gretiviere Chipikitis and Bertha Pyle. Violet loved doing for people, whether it was cooking, crafting or just spending time drinking a cup of coffee and talking. She enjoyed baking bread, pies and Christmas cookies, canning peaches and she enjoyed her garden. She also enjoyed listening to her husband, Sylvan play the fiddle and the many places it took them. She knew Jesus as her Lord and Savior and is now listening once again to the fiddle and singing praises to our Lord in heaven. She is survived by her children, Sylvan J. Hare and Vietta M., married to Jesse Engleka, all of Rockwood; special grandson, Charles S. Engleka and fiancée, Taya Bolyard and great-grandson, Ezra Scott Engleka, all of Rowlesburg, WV; and many nieces and nephews. At her request, she will be cremated and a graveside service will be held at a later date. Newman Funeral Homes, P.A., 179 Miller St., Grantsville, MD, is in charge of arrangements.
