Tommye Lynn’s Obituary Tommye Lynn Faires of Cushing, Oklahoma passed peacefully from this life on Sunday, August 11, 2019 at her home. Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Palmer Marler Funeral Home, Cushing, OK. Tommye was born in Yale, OK on November 29, 1953 to parents Thomas Paul and Norma Jean Helwick. She grew up in Oilton, OK before the family moved to Tulsa where she would attend school. She loved to have fun and greatly enjoyed working as a clerk and different convenience stores. Tommye never met a stranger and could talk to anyone (including herself!) She had a delightful sense of humor and loved to laugh and bring others joy. She was a very generous person and would always make sure “her people” (those who affectionately knew her as “Aunt Granny”) had everything they needed. Many remember her great love of music from country to Tupac, she loved it all! Tommye is preceded in death by her parents, and her husband Tom Cecil Faires. She is survived by her sons, Harley Faires and Chelsea Kendrick of Cushing, Shaun Helwick and wife Amber of Jenks; Siblings, Ricky Joe Helwick, D.H.M.F. and husband Ric Harrison of Tulsa, Tammye Jean “Toots” Atchison and Beau Atchison of Cushing; nieces, Dezarae Greer and husband Carlos Miller of Cushing, Hannah Atchison of Cushing, and Kayla Atchison and husband Trever Adkison of Stillwater; grandchildren, Avery Helwick, Taytin Minney, Stevye Rae Minney, Rylan Rowdye Lee Adkison, and one more soon to be born. A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, August 16, 2019 at the Chapel of Palmer Marler Funeral Home, Cushing, OK. Read More
