Timothy J. Kennedy, 79, passed away peacefully after a long illness on Sunday, July 28, 2019 at DeMay Living Center in Newark, NY. Born in Chicopee on January 31, 1940, son of the late Thomas and Valeria (Orszak) Kennedy, he was raised in Chicopee and was a 1959 graduate of Bentley School of Accounting and Finance. He worked as chief accountant of General Instrument Corp. of Chicopee, controller of Titeflex Corp. of Springfield, and retired after many years of service as CFO of IEC Electronics Corp. of Newark. A US Army veteran, Timothy completed the Judge Advocate General Course and served his country in the accounting field, earning commendations as a marksman and sharpshooter. He was a member of American Legion Post 286 and a lifetime member of the Newark Elks Lodge 1249. Timothy enjoyed golfing and taking Caribbean/Panama Canal cruises. Timothy is survived by his beloved wife, Evelyn H. (Dubiel) Kennedy; and his loving daughters, Erin Kennedy of Ashland, and Colleen Champagne of East Longmeadow. He was predeceased by his twin sisters, Theresa Mastroianni and Helen Mayo. At Timothy’s request, committal services with military honors were held privately at St. Stanislaus Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Humane Society of South Wayne County, 1475 County House Rd., Lyons, NY 14489.
