Thurman’s Obituary Thurman “Dave” Balderson, 65, of Parkersburg, passed away surrounded by his loving family after a short battle with Lewy Body Dementia on Wednesday, July 31, 2019 at his residence. He was born October 10, 1953, in Parkersburg, a son of Dorcas Jane Shutts Stanley of Parkersburg and the late Thurman Junior Balderson. Dave retired from Eramet. He loved the outdoors and was an avid fisherman and hunter. Dave enjoyed spending time with his family. He was a member of Marrtown Road Church of Christ. Dave is survived by his wife, Shonia Cook Balderson; two children, Larry Balderson (Susan) and their daughter Sarah and Jane Devericks (Ron) and their two daughters, Shelby and Carlie. Two siblings, Sallie Hinzman (Jim) of Parkersburg and Roy Balderson (Judy) of Parkersburg. A graveside service will be held at 2 pm on Saturday, August 3, 2019 at Evergreen South Cemetery with Randy Vanfossen officiating. Visitation will be from 1-8 pm on Friday at the Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, 2333 Pike St, south Parkersburg. The family would like to extend a special thank you Amedisys Hospice of Parkersburg for their loving care.
