Shannon, Jr. August 22, 2019 Share this obituary Sign Guestbook Thomas E Shannon, Jr. 62, of Edison, passed peacefully, with the love of his family at his side, on Thursday, August 22, 2019, at the Haven Hospice Unit of the JFK Medical Center in Edison. Born in Orange, NJ he has resided in Edison since 1961. He was a graduate of J. P. Stevens High School, with the class of ’76. He had been employed as a Plant Manager with Ames Environmental and the former DeGussa Corp. of Piscataway, since the early 1990’s. Tommy loved to travel on is Harley, and taking pictures of the beautiful sceneries he enjoyed so much. He is predeceased by his beloved father; Thomas E. Shannon, Sr., who died in May of 2010. Tommy leaves behind, his beloved mother, Joyce Shannon, his three devoted sisters, Kathy Mc Grath and her husband Jim of Edison, and Nancy Kryskowiak and her husband Michael, of Salisbury, MD, Trish Shannon and her husband, Michael Latham of Edison, and his dear nieces and nephews, Kelly, Jimmy, Dennis, Michael, Caitlin and Kevin, and grand-niece, Madison and grand-nephew, Noah. Tommy was a great friend to all who knew him, and he will be missed dearly, by all who loved him. Visitation will be on Sunday afternoon, August 25, 2019, from 4 pm to 8 pm, and again on Monday, August 26, 2019, from 2-4 pm and 7-9 pm at the Flynn and Son Funeral Home, 23 Ford Ave. Fords, NJ 08863. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday morning, August 27, 2019 at 10 a.m. at the Flynn and Son Funeral Home, with Fr. Joseph Desmond officiating. Interment will follow in the Hillside Cemetery, Metuchen.
