Susanna’s Obituary Susanna R. Gallatin of McCook passed away at the Good Samaritan Society Nursing Home in Oberlin, KS after a courageous battle with cancer. She was 80 years old. Susanna was born on May 12, 1939 at Bartley, NE to parents Paul and Clara (Pycha) Sughroue. She graduated from Bartley High School. On January 18, 1958 she was united in marriage to Dwight Eugene Gallatin at St. John’s Catholic Church in Cambridge. To this union a daughter, Robin, was born. Susanna was a busy homemaker and mother. She enjoyed her birds including her parrots and cockatiels. Preceding her in death were her parents, Paul and Clara Sughroue; sister, Betty ten Bensel; and brother, Elmo Sughroue. Survivors include her husband, Dwight Gallatin of McCook; daughter, Robin and husband, Harry Marks, of Indianola; granddaughter, Alexis and husband, Kaleb Popp, of Indianola and great grandbaby coming in November. Memorials may be given in her name to the McCook Humane Society and may be left at Herrmann Jones Funeral Chapel. The family will honor Susanna’s wish to be cremated with no public service.
