Stella’s Obituary Age 90, of Farmington Hills, passed away August 27, 2019. Stella was born June 28, 1929, in Loretta, Tennessee, the daughter of Ernest and Alice (née Price) Norton. Surviving Stella are her beloved sons, Mike (Stephanie) Thorne, Dave (Jody) Thorne, and Jeff (Debbie) Thorne; grandchildren, Josh (Andrea) Thorne, Matt (Carrie) Thorne, Sarah (Zach) Cook, James (Janelle) Thorne, Katie (Kyle) Boone, Luke Thorne, Zachary Thorne, Rachel (Jared) Peterson, Amy Thorne, Cal Thorne, Travis Thorne, Justin (Paige) Thorne and Michael Thorne; great grandchildren, Jarrett, Alex, Hunter, Grant, Tenley, Peyton, Carson, Julia, Jacelynn, Levi and Callen. Sadly, Stella is preceded in death by her cherished husband, Luther; and siblings, Edna, Lorine, William, Almon, Emogene, Norman and John. Stella’s family will receive guests at the funeral home on Friday, August 30, from 2-4 pm, followed by a service at 4 pm. Stella will be laid to rest next to Luther at Great Lakes National Cemetery in Holly, Michigan. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Stella’s memory may be made to the Special Olympics.
