Stanley Swierad, 93, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, August 7, 2019 at the JGS Lifecare in Longmeadow. Born in Poland on October 3, 1925, he served in a force labor camp during World War II. Upon coming to the United States Stanley settled in Chicopee and worked as a machinist in the aerospace manufacturing industry. He was a communicant of the Basilica of St. Stanislaus, Bishop and Martyr. Stanley was predeceased in 2002 by his beloved wife, Irene T. (Frycia) Swierad and also predeceased by a beloved daughter, Catherine Wurszt. Stanley is survived by his loving granddaughter, Michelle Wurszt, of Indain Orchard, and his loving son-in-law, Jan Wurszt, of indian Orchard. Funeral services will be held Wednesday from Kozikowski Funeral Home, 565 Front St., Chicopee, followed by a Mass of Chrisrian Burial at 10AM in St. Stanislaus Basilica. Burial will follow in St. Stanislaus Cemetery. Visitation is Wednesday from 9-9:45AM.
