Stanley Peter Garczynski, age 70, of West Springfield, passed away surrounded by loved ones on August 20, 2019. He was born in Springfield and grew up in Holyoke, son of the late Stasia Bousquet (Ogulewicz) and Thomas Garczynski. He is survived by his daughters: April Duguay and her husband Jay of West Springfield, Kamie Garczynski and her wife Brenda of Chicopee. He is also survived by his siblings: Jean Buxton, John Garczynski, Thomas Garczynski, Stella Garrison, Mary Jane Jarrett, Tina Grimshaw and many other family and friends. Stanley, better known as Dad and Stas’, had many adventures throughout his life. He enjoyed fishing, boating, camping, body surfing, dancing, music and traveling across the country. He was someone that you could count on if you needed anything. His smile, facial expressions and catchy phrases will be missed by everyone. He was a United States Army Veteran of the Vietnam era, serving from 1965 to 1968, then was a member of the United States Army Reserves until 1971. Family and friends are invited to attend his service with military honors on Tuesday, August 27th at 9:00am in the Chapel of the Massachusetts Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 1390 Main Street, Agawam. There are no calling hours. Barry J. Farrell Funeral Home in Holyoke is handling arrangements. In lieu of flowers and for Stas’ love of animals, memorial contributions can be made to T.J. O’Connor Animal Shelter or Dakin Humane Society.
