Stanley’s Obituary Stanley F. “Doc” Ledbetter passed away on August 11, 2019 in Center Ridge, Arkansas. Stanley was born August 28, 1944 to Claude Stanley and Pearline Edwards Ledbetter of Solgohachia, Arkansas. In his early years, Stanley began studying at the Missionary Baptist Seminary at age 16. At 17 he joined his beloved United State Marine Corps, where he attained the rank of Lance Corporal. After his enlistment, he became an ambulance driver and ended up being the general manager of A-1 Ambulance Service. The National Enquirer wrote a story about him being the youngest in his position. Stan had another great opportunity; he became Arkansas’ first investigator with the State Crime Lab. He studied at Southwest Missouri State National Death Investigator School. He later joined the Pulaski County Sheriff’s Office where he became CID Sergeant and was the only death investigator in the seven counties in central Arkansas. He then went to the Pulaski County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office as the lead investigator and was SCAN’s first investigator. He then became a third partner A-1 Ambulance. In his later days of his professional life, he owned Mid State Auto Sales and Mid State Investigations. Stan retired after working for his good friend John Crockett selling cars at Metropolitan Motors. Stan will be remembered as a good Marine, a good businessman, a very good detective, a good cook, and yes he even raced sprint cars in the late 60’s at Benton Speed Bowl. He was a good dad. Stan was preceded in death by his father, mother, and brother: Charles Ledbetter; nephews: Dean Honeycutt, Mark D. Ledbetter; great nephew: Luke Ledbetter.; his good friends John George and PD Nash. Stan is survived by sons: Stanley Wade Ledbetter and Stanley F. Ledbetter Jr.; daughter: Tina Brewer- Burkett; loving brother: Ray F. Ledbetter; sisters: Ann Delong and Julie Goude; nephews: Mike Ledbetter and Don Delong; and lastly his two best friends John Crockett and Steve Mahan. Visitation will be Thursday, August 15, 2019 from 6:00 PM to 8:00PM at the Bob Neal and Sons Chapel. Services will be Friday, August 16, 2019 at 10:00 AM at the same location.
