Shirley was born on February 21, 1940 in Atoka County, Oklahoma to Louie Ray Gibson and Mable (Goforth) Gibson. Shirley married Herbert Wharton on July 10, 1957 in Farris, Oklahoma. Together they have 4 children: Terrell, Mike, Becky and Carla. Shirley was a Homemaker and a Pastor’s Wife for many years. She is a Charter Member of the Atoka Assembly Of God Church.
