Sandra L. “Sandy” Dunlap, age 77 of Hesperia, passed on after a lifetime of varied interests and adventures. She was born June 20, 1942 in Shelby to Russell and Doneta (Rouse) Easton. Sandy graduated from Shelby High School in 1960. She lived in several different locales around Oceana County, spending the past thirty years in Hesperia. Sandy lived in New Jersey for ten years and her favorite job was as a Black Jack dealer at the Tropicana Casino in Atlantic City. She had also co-owned the Country Crossroads Grocery in Ferry for thirteen years. Sandy enjoyed painting, woodcarving, and taking rides in the country to see deer. She had a passion for karaoke and playing pool. She was preceded in death by her parents; former husband, Kenneth Dunlap; her grandson, Joshua Stafford and son-in-law, Kevin Stafford. Sandy is survived by her children, Toni (John) Smith, Irene (Mike) Lathrop, Thomasa Stafford, Theresa Miller and Shannon (Ronald) Monroe, Jr.; fifteen grandchildren; sixteen great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Patricia (Dale) Thebo and Nancy Anderson. Private family services will be held.
