Ruth’s Obituary Ruth Emma (Landis) Miller, 94, of Telford, PA; formerly of Souderton, PA & Hilltown, PA entered into rest on Friday, August 16, 2019 at Lutheran Community at Telford. She was the loving wife of the late Howard I. Miller for 45 years. Ruth was born in Hilltown, Pennsylvania to the late Henry Landis and the late Mame (Swope) Landis. She worked as a sorter for the former American Olean Tile Company in Lansdale and then worked as a sewing machine operator for the former Hanson Textile Company in Hatfield. Ruth volunteered for the Boys Scouts of America. She was a member of Heidelberg United Church of Christ in Hatfield. She was an avid bowler and belonged to 2 different leagues. Ruth loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She enjoyed flower gardening and playing board games with her friends. Ruth was a hardworking, loving, caring, compassionate, down to earth woman who was the “rock” of her family. She is survived by her son, Bruce H. Miller & wife, Diane of Hatfield, PA; her daughter, Donna G. Crawford & husband, Timothy of Perkasie, PA; her four grandchildren, Lauren R. Freda & husband, Scott of Horsham, PA, Justin H. Miller of Harrisburg, PA, Nicole L. Crawford of Perkasie, PA, Erin C. Dallatore & husband, Zachary of Perkasie, PA; and her six great-grandchildren – Brayden, Cole, Conner, Landon, Macklin, & Michael. In addition to her parents and husband, Ruth was preceded in death by her brother, Wesley Landis and her six sisters, Martha Bevens, Dorothy Swartz, Grace Mellor, Rachel Landis, Alma Hendrickson, and Marion “Dolly” Wegschieder. A viewing will be held on Thursday, August 22, 2019 at Heidelberg United Church of Christ, 1101 Cowpath Road, Hatfield, Pennsylvania 19440 from 10:00 am – 11:00 am, followed by a funeral service at 11:00 am.
