Rosella’s Obituary Rosella Selland, 89, Sterling, went home to be with her Heavenly Father on August 29, 2019. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Tuesday, September 3, 2019 at Sterling United Methodist Church, 225 McKenzie Street, Sterling, ND. Visitation will begin one hour prior to the service. Burial will be at the Sterling Cemetery, immediately following the service. Rosella was born on September 4, 1929, to Emil W. and Zella Bertha (Mueller) Lang. She was raised in Sterling, ND and graduated from Bismarck High School. Rosella married Curtiss Selland on November 18, 1949. Together they had three sons Randy, Larry, and Robin. She worked at the State Bank of Burleigh County for over 20 years, until 1971. She then began employment with the ND State Department of Public Instruction, until she retired in 1995. Rosella was a member of the Sterling United Methodist Church. She was very active in the church and greatly enjoyed fellowship at Bible study each week. She enjoyed reading the newspaper every day, watching her favorite shows and playing Bunco. She always looked forward to gatherings with family and friends. If you happened to catch Rosella on a Saturday afternoon, you would always find her with rollers in her hair, preparing to look her best for church on Sunday. Rosella will be remembered for her quick wit, her devotion to her faith, and her unconditional love for her family. Rosella is survived by her sons, Larry (Charlene) Selland, Sterling, ND, and Robin (Gail) Selland, Wenatchee, WA; grandchildren, Randy (Brandy) Selland, Bismarck, and Kristin (Rance) Schmidt, Bismarck; great grandchildren, Griffin and Emerson Schmidt and unborn baby Selland (due in October); her sister, Geraldine Lee; sisters-in-law, Jane Lang and Bette Bergan; and many nieces, nephews and good friends. Rosella was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Curtiss Selland; her sister, Mildred Lang; her brothers, Emil, Ernest and Donald Lang; and infant son, Randy Selland. Read More
