He was born on April 8, 1936 in Connersville, Indiana. He was an avid golfer. He loved to fish, take cruises and go on vacations. He was a Korean War veteran and served our country in The United States Army. Besides his parents he was preceded in death by his older sister, Velma Hayden. Robert is survived by his daughter, Terri L. Harper of Hollister, Fl.; brother, William Whitis and sister, Barbara Reese of Indiana; and one grandson, Robert Harper of Hollister, FL. Funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday August 15, 2019 in Conkle Funeral Home, Speedway Chapel. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until the time of service. Robert will be laid to rest next to his beloved wife, Gloria Jean Whitis at Floral Park Cemetery.
