Richard S. Townsend Sr. 80 of Blossom View Nursing Home, Sodus, NY a formerly of Fort Meyers, Florida died peacefully at Newark-Wayne Community Hospital, Monday August 5, 2019. Rick was born December 27, 1938 to Lloyd and Margaret (Walker) Townsend. He drove Tractor Trailers for over 45 years. He was employed by Nealway Trucking of Red Creek and later for John Paylor Enterprises of Wolcott, NY. Rick is survived by his sons Richard S. Townsend Jr. (Vicki Nichols) of Red Creek and Rory (Ragan) Townsend of Conquest, NY. His brother John Townsend , his step-grandson Jonni Harrison and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents and his son Robbie Lee Townsend. Sisters Ruth Ann Packowski, Mary (Dewitt) Tacy, Elizabeth (Lizzie) Townsend and Nephew Dewitt Tacy. There will be a “Celebration of Life” Saturday August 17, 2019 at 2 pm from the Port Byron John Cool American Legion #257 Main ST. Port Byron, NY.
