Richard Alexander Wyche, a loving husband and father passed away on Tuesday, August 20, 2019, in his home after a short illness, at the age of 73. Richard was born March 28, 1946 to James Edward and Gereave (Conaway) Wyche in Century, Florida. He served in the US Army in the Vietnam era from 1965 – 66, earning a marksman badge and was awarded the National Defense Metal. After his tour of duty he attended Jefferson Davis College. Richard was a member of the Pine Level Baptist Church congregation, serving actively in the music program. Richard had a passion for music; and was an accomplished musician proficient with multiple instruments. Other activities he enjoyed included his family, gardening, and fishing. He was preceded in death by his mother, his father, three siblings, and other family members. He is survived by wife of 32 years, Gladys Gerber; 11 children; Angela (Lee) Youngblood, Anthony Wyche, Kelly Weger, Kimberly Noles, Matthew Wyche, Christopher Wyche, Karen Wyche, Rebecca Wyche, Ricky Wyche, Aaron Wyche, and Eric Wyche, and three siblings. He has 23 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren. A memorial service will be held at Pine Level Baptist Church on Saturday, August 24, 2019 at 11:00. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service beginning at 10:00. In lieu of flowers, please make donations in his honor to the Jay High School Band Boosters.
