PENNIE VEE MIMS, age 55 of Clanton, passed away on August 18, 2019 at her residence. She was born in Chilton County on February 16, 1964; the daughter of the late Carl Oneal Payton and the late Mary Sue Johnson Cleckler. She was a homemaker. She is survived by: Son, Joey (Candace Horton) Mims of Clanton; Daughter, Jessica Mims of Dothan; Grandchildren: Brooklyn Mims, J.J. Speer, Alyssa Speer, Maddy Mims, Anna Mims, and Zoey Mims; Brother, Benny Payton of Maplesville; Sister, Sherry Ware of Southport, FL; and a host of nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by: Husband, Dennis Ray Mims; Father, Carl Oneal Payton; Mother, Mary Sue Cleckler; and Brother, Steven Oneal Payton. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, August 22, 2019 at 6:00pm from the Billingsley Church of God with Rev. Wendell Kelley officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church. The family request in lieu of flowers, please make a memorial contribution to the Billingsley Church of God.
