A Homegoing Memorial Celebration for Mrs. Pearl Allen of Tampa, Florida who passed away August 11, 2019, will be held Saturday, August 17th, 2:00 p.m., at Aikens Funeral Home, 2708 E. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Blvd., Pastor Derick Levy, officiating. Pearl was a life-long resident of Tampa, Florida and educated in the public schools of Hillsborough County. She was preceded in death by her parents, Ernest and Geneva Gillard; brothers, Edward, Leonard, Frank, Frederick, Sr., and Bobby Gillard (infant). She leaves to cherish her memories and continue her legacy with children, Gene Blalock, Sr., Dr. Malcolm Gillard (Daniel), Stacy Gillard and Joseph Allen, Jr. (Tia); goddaughter, Charlette Mayhue-Fussell; grandchildren, Gene Blalock, Jr. (Liz), Benjamin Forte, Ja’naye Allen, Jo’mara Allen, Ikera Johnson, Sonjae Miller, Jamarcus Gillard, Jamiah Gillard, Jaedea Gillard, Aariontae Brown, Tiara Brown and ReJai Anderson; great grandchildren, Gene Blalock III, Samuel Allen, Garrett Blalock, Jakobi Desroches, and Logan Forte; brothers, Clarence Gillard (Annie) and Ralph Gillard (Alma); a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends, David (Cowboy) Peterson, Sharon Zeigler, Laverne Rhanes, and Tonya Nembhard. The family and friends are asked to meet at the funeral home for the service on Saturday.
