Ole Aresvik Jacobsen, aged 84 of Caledonia passed away Wednesday, August 14, 2019. Born in East Grand Rapids, Michigan on March 19, 1935; a son of the late Millard L. Jacobsen and Ruth B. (Cuatte) Jacobsen. He married Phyllis Joan Malfroid of Grand Rapids in 1956 and raised four children together, until her death in 1998. Ole Jacobsen was an avid, lifelong restaurateur and hospitality expert. During his career, he worked for companies in the hospitality industry across the United States, until finally managing his own restaurant in St Joseph, Michigan (Pier III). He was preceded in death by his wife, Phyllis J. Jacobsen and his sisters, Carol Johnson, Jeanne Pettengill, and Margo Kidle. Surviving are his children, Kenneth (Mary Ann) Jacobsen, Craig Jacobsen, Karen (Larry) Green, and Christopher (Christy) Jacobsen; grandchildren, Dani (Erica) Patrick, Joshua Horvath, Desire Jacobsen, and Nicholas Jacobsen; great granddaughter, Brayvn Patrick; and his dear friend and companion, Patricia Mayhew. A memorial service will be held at 10:00 am on Saturday, September 7th at the Stegenga Funeral Chapel – Wyoming, 3131 S. Division Ave., with visitation one hour prior to the service.
