Monte’s Obituary Monte C. Smith, 76 of Jesup died Monday, August 12, 2019 under the care of Hospice of South Georgia. The Tattnall County native had lived in Wayne County most of her life and was a homemaker. She loved to crochet, garden and play cards. Monte was predeceased by her husband, Albert Smith and several siblings. Survivors are two daughters, Sandra (Luther) Caraway of Vidalia and Sharon (Jay) Suggs of Brunswick; a son, Randy (Emma ) Rogers of Vidalia; a sister, Janet Strickland of Glennville; a companion, Jimmy Davis, Sr. of Jesup; several grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be 11 AM Wednesday, August 14, 2019 at Rinehart and Sons Chapel with Rev. Stan Todd officiating. Interment will follow in the Jesup City Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be family and friends. Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the funeral home. Rinehart and Sons Funeral Home of Jesup is in charge of arrangements. Read More
