March 1 1921 August 25 2019
MaryBell Taylor peacefully departed this life on August 25, 2019 at Hamilton Grove Healthcare and Rehabilitation, Hamilton, NJ. Born in Grenada County, Mississippi, she was the youngest of five children born to the late George Drinkwater and the late Mary Drinkwater Harris. Though her given name was Maybell Drinkwater, she is known as MaryBell Taylor. That name stuck when she came to Trenton, NJ, at the age of twenty-three. She married the love of her life in 1944 to the late Gerry Taylor. Then they came to Trenton, NJ, for a better life. MaryBell was known to everyone as a person who loved God trusted in everything He did. He sustained her for over fifty plus years after losing her husband. MaryBell worked for Harold Perry of Trenton, NJ, and Mamull Tama of Yardley, PA, over thirty years as a domestic worker. Though she had no children of her own she would spoil the children on her block. She was also an avid caretaker of her flower garden. Mrs. Taylor was a faithful member of Shiloh Baptist Church, active in church functions until she could no longer attend because of failing health. She was predeceased by her two sisters, Malinda Young and Rose Lee Drinkwater Harris; two brothers, Samuel Harris and Charles Martin. She leaves to mourn, her special friend, Alberta Lashley, nieces and nephews, Utha Mae Williams of Detroit, MI, Betty Harris (Joseph), Chris Martin (Lisa), Donald Martin, Lisa Harris of Sandusky, OH and a host of friends, including her caregiver, Dorothy L. Jones. To send flowers or a memorial gift to the family of MaryBell Taylor please visit our Sympathy Store.
