Mary Nancy Swiney West, age 69, of Milledgeville, passed away Friday, August 16, 2019. She was born in Atlanta on December 22, 1949 to the late Clements Adolphus Swiney and the late Geneva Oglesby Swiney. Mary was Retired as a Teacher from the Baldwin County School System. A true Artist by nature, Mary not only held an Education Degree, but also an Art Degree. She was a Stained Glass Artist, and much of her work can be found locally. Mary also baked and decorated cakes for birthdays, weddings, and all occasions. Mrs. West was also an accomplished musician, and even sang for the veterans when she would volunteer with the Georgia War Veterans Home. She was also a member of Northside Baptist Church. Mary is survived by: her husband, Tom West; her children, Jamie (& Karin) Hamlin, Ansley Hamlin, Leanna (& Scott) Williams, and Dronda Harvil ; 10 Grandchildren, Kayla Hamlin, William Hamlin, James Hamlin, Cole Bankston, Haley Bankston, Druey Williams, Wesley Williams, Sara Harvil, Ana Harvil, and Thomas Harvil; and her Mother-in-law, Dovie West. Funeral Services for Mary West will be conducted from the Graveside on Wednesday, August 21, 2019 at 10:30AM in Baldwin Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the Williams Funeral Home of Milledgeville on Wednesday, August 21, 2019 from 9:00am until 10:00am.
