Mary Lois (Ruddock) Litzinger August 25, 2019 Share this obituary Send Flowers View/Sign Guestbook| Send Sympathy Card Mary Lois (Ruddock) Litzinger, age 91, of Indiana died peacefully Sunday, August 25, 2019 at Indiana Regional Medical Center surrounded by her loving family. Born in 1928 in Indiana County to David and E.Claire (Moore) Ruddock, Lois was preceded in death by her parents, her devoted husband of 50 years, Lloyd E. Litzinger, three brothers, and three sisters. For many years, she kept the books for Litzinger’s Builders, the family business, and also worked part-time at the Indiana County Courthouse. She was a member of Calvary United Presbyterian Church for over 75 years, where she served for a time as a deacon. Lois enjoyed an active social life for many years through memberships in the Alta-Vista Homemakers and the Indiana Piano and Organ Club. She was also an avid bingo player. As a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, Lois enjoyed spending time with her family, especially the youngest members. Weddings and Christmases were very special times for her and she made them special for her family, who gathered together on those occasions to make and decorate cookies and enjoy the beautiful cross-stitched and crocheted items she often made as gifts, her delicious pies, jams, and preserves made from her home-grown strawberries. Her great love of family compelled her to act as guardian and provide a home for two surviving nieces, LuAnn Eckman of Ford City, PA, and Patricia Ganley of Indiana, PA, after the death of their parents. She is also survived her children: Wesley L. Litzinger and spouse, Brian, Laguna Beach, CA; Janet L. Apjok and husband Richard, Indiana, PA; Lori L. Baker and husband Scott, Middletown, MD; grandchildren: Jennifer Burgess and husband Michael; Michael Apjok and wife Megan; Aaron Apjok and wife Stephanie; Garrett Baker and fiancée Olivia; Shannon Baker; seven great-grandchildren: Madison, Ava, and Kendal Apjok, Andrew and Jonathan Burgess, Maximus and Maddox Apjok; and numerous nieces and nephews. Friends will be received on Wednesday, August 28, 2019, from 3 -7 pm at Bowser-Minich Funeral Home, Indiana. A celebration of her life will be held at Calvary United Presbyterian Church, Indiana, on Thursday, ,August, 2019, at 11:00 AM with the Reverend David Hanna officiating, followed by interment in the Oakland Cemetery Mausoleum.
