Mary Ann Piatkowski, 78, of Columbus, IN and formerly of Springville, NY passed peacefully on Wednesday, August 28, 2019 at 11:50 p.m. She was born on August 12, 1941 in Buffalo, NY the daughter of John and Bertha (nee Hojnacki) Borucki. She met and married her high-school sweetheart and husband of 52 years, Edward E. Piatkowski, both from Depew High School. A New York State retiree who had worked as an Administrative Assistant, she was also a devoted wife and mother who loved spending time with her family. A lifelong resident of Western New York, Ed and Mary Ann moved to Columbus, IN in July 2007. Eventually moving into Parkside Court in Columbus, IN, she enjoyed playing bingo, knitting, and crocheting with her close knit group of friends. She will be dearly missed by her children Lynn Roland of Athol Springs, NY and John (Jeny) Piatkowski of Columbus, IN; grandchildren, James (Becca) Roland, Amanda (David) Gerwitz, Haley, Matthew, Makenna, and Allison Piatkowski; great grandchildren, Nathan, Jacob, and Benjamin Gerwitz; Joshua and Ella Grace Roland. She is survived by her sister Janice (Gerry) Erion of Batavia, NY and sister-in-law Gerry (Norbert) Ruminski of Buffalo, NY. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; and a son, Edward J. Piatkowski. In keeping with Mrs. Piatkowski’s wishes, cremation will take place and a family memorial service will be held at a later date in the Buffalo, NY area. Memorial contributions may be given to Our Hospice of South Central Indiana.
