Mary Adelaide Ames Passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 24, 2019 in Long Beach, California; she was born on September 2, 1925 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania to the late Arthur and Mary (Regensberger) Newman. Mary was a homemaker all her married life, tending to her family. In addition, to being a homemaker, she had a children’s day care for many years. In her retirement, she and her husband William moved to Sun City, California. There she became involved in her church and her community. She was a member of Crime Watch, The Red Hats Society and a KOP member in the TOPS Club of Sun City for many years. Mary was a member of St Vincent Ferrer Catholic Church there she was a member of the Woman’s Guild. Mary was also a monthly participant in the Sun City Christians Woman’s Club Branch. Mary’s main goal in life was the love of her family and grandchildren. She is survived by her loving children and their families, Richard Ames, Beverly Truzzolino, William Ames, Timothy Ames, Rosemary Reinhart and Tracy Ames; also fourteen grandchildren and nine Great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband William Ames in 2004 and her siblings, Arthur Newman and Mildred Haley. There will be a visitation on Sunday, October 6, 2019 from 4-7pm at Miller-Jones Mortuary 26770 Murrieta Rd., Sun City, California 92586, with a rosary to be recited at 6pm. A Funeral Mass in Celebration of Mary’s life will be on Monday, October 7, 2019 at St Vincent Ferrer Catholic Church in Sun City, California at 10am. A graveside service will follow at Riverside National Cemetery 22495 Van Buren Blvd., Riverside, California 92518 at 11:30am, staging area #3. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in Mary’s name to Our Lady of the Rosary.
