Marguerite Rust, 107, of Bloomington, passed away at 5:55 p.m. Wednesday, August 28, 2019 at her home. Marguerite was born December 5, 1911, the daughter of Herman and Pamela Wright Burns. She valued education, enjoyed cooking and liked working in the garden. Marguerite also loved quilting and pets. Survivors include longtime friends, Bruce (Cathy) Smith of Michigan, Wendell (Wanda) Huff, Steve (Lisa) Newton, Jim (Karen) Reed, all of Columbus, Gail (Andy) Baer of Alabama and Joshua (Jessica) Huber of Bedford. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, James Burns; brother Everett Burns and aunt, Anna Wright. In keeping with her wishes, cremation will take place and a chapel service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, September7, 2019 at Garland Brook Mausoleum with Pastor Ancel Harden officiating. Burial will be at Garland Brook Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Bartholomew County Humane Society.
