Margaret A. McNamara, (nee Greiss), 81, passed away on Thursday, August 1, 2019 at home in Kearny, NJ. The funeral will be from the Thiele-Reid Family Funeral Home, 585 Belgrove Drive, Kearny, on Saturday, August 10, at 9:00 a.m. A Funeral Mass will be offered in St. Stephen’s Church, Kearny at 10:00 a.m. Cremation will be private. Relatives and friends are invited to visit at the funeral home on Friday, August 9, from 4 to 8 p.m. Mrs. McNamara was born in Newark and lived in Kearny her entire life. She was a Secretary for the Kearny Board of Education for 13 years before retiring in 1999. Margaret was a member of the Arlington Woman’s Club of Kearny and also the 4 Seasons; a group of classmates from St. Cecilia High School, Kearny. She is survived by her four children, George J., Joseph P., and Michael P. McNamara and Ellen Jennings. She was the grandmother of Jackie, Jazmin, Gabriel, Patrick and Ryan. Margaret was predeceased by her husband, George D. McNamara and her siblings, Theresa (Rita) Regan and William and Joseph Greiss.
