Marcia Sue Harlow, 75, of Bloomington, Indiana, passed away on August 26, 2019 at IU Health. Marcia was born in Oaktown, Indiana on November 9th, 1943. Marcia graduated from Oaktown High School and then continued her studies at Indiana University. While attending Indiana University, Marcia developed a love of Russian Literature and obtained a Master’s Degree in Library Sciences. While at Indiana University, Marcia met the love of her life, Jack Harlow. Their loving relationship spanned over five decades creating two beautiful boys, Aaron and John Harlow. Marcia was a much beloved librarian for Monroe County Community Schools. Marcia loved teaching and interacting with children. Marcia’s love of literature was passed to several generations of students. Marcia was a volunteer at Middleway House for many years. Marcia helped start a support group for grieving parents after the loss of both her sons. Marcia was a very active in her community and was an active member of the Monroe County Democratic Club. Marcia is survived by her loving husband, Jack Harlow; her daughter-in-law April Adkins, (Aaron) and her pride and joys of her life, her three grandchildren, Heather and Cordelia Harlow (Aaron) and Nathan Harlow (John). Marcia is also survived by an amazing sisterhood of friends. Marcia was preceded in death by her parents, her sister, and her beloved boys Aaron Harlow and John Harlow. A memorial will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 5, 2019 at The Unitarian Universalist Church, 2120 N. Fee Lane, with a reception to follow.
