Lura’s Obituary Lura Lee Hudson, 71, of Mexico, passed away at 5:25 p.m. on Monday, August 26, 2019 at Ashland Healthcare in Ashland. Funeral Services will be at 3:30 p.m. on Friday, August 30, at Arnold Funeral Home with Rev. Glenn Forman officiating. Burial will follow in East Lawn Memorial Park. Visitation is Friday from 2:00 p.m. until time of service at the funeral home. Lura was born on February 13, 1948 in Mexico, the daughter of Elzea and Esther (Wheeler) Painter. On December 29, 1967 in Rush Hill, she married Jack Lee Hudson. Mrs. Hudson had worked as a C.N.A. for Pin Oaks Living Center, retiring after 33 years. Since age 16, she spent over 40 years in nursing and truly enjoyed taking care of others. Lura was a member of Friendship Baptist Church. She loved flowers, gardens and her pets. Most of all, she loved spending time with her family. Survivors include her husband, Jack Hudson of Mexico; three children, Jack (Krista) Hudson of Bremerton, Washington, Shelly Carver (Justin Wilson) of Hartsburg, and Travis (Crystal) Hudson of Fairbanks, Alaska; three grandchildren, Alexis Thompson, Maranda Hudson and Lauren Hudson, all of Bremerton, Washington; and one great-grandchild, Julian Thompson. Lura was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Bob Painter. Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society. They may be sent in care of Arnold Funeral Home, 425 S.
