He passed away at home on July 26, 2019. He was preceded in death by is father, Benn Alford; mother, Annie Alford; sisters, Minnie Lee Taylor, and Ollie Mae Silas; brothers, Archie and William Alford; children, Lovern, Deborah and Kenneth Alford; and a great granddaughter, Nyshell Petree. He leaves to cherish a loving wife, Jessie Alford of Bogalusa, LA; daughters, Leslie Adams of Baltimore, MD, Viola Alford of Gautier, MS, Ethel (Kenneth) Willis of Elm City, NC, Pearlie Alford of Bogalusa, LA; Shelley Henderson of Matthew, NC, and Jo-anna Alford of Bridgeport, CT; one son, Leonard (Carmen) Alford of Stratford, CT; sixteen grandchildren, seventeen great grandchildren, and five great great grandchildren; one loving oh so caring God son, Kenny Peters II of Bogalusa, LA; a special son, Charles Warner of Nort Heaven, CT and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends. Visitation will be Saturday, August 3, 2019 from 9:00AM – 11:00AM followed by the funeral service at 11:00AM at Metropolitan Baptist Church 1640 Charlevoix Street Bogalusa, LA 70427 with Rev. M.J. Galloway ~ Pastor Officiating. Interment will be held at the Bogalusa Cemetery. Crain and Sons Funeral Home – Bogalusa are in charge of arrangements.
