Loretta J. Rhoten, 82 of Charlestown, In passed away on Friday, August 9, 2019 at Baptist Health Floyd in New Albany, IN. Loretta was born on January 29, 1937 in Bedford, IN the daughter of Roy and Mabel Bough Brock. She was a Registered Nurse starting her career at Clark Memorial Hospital, Jones and Voskuhl office and then with Charlestown School System. Loretta was a member of Bethany Christian Church in Charlestown, Psi Iota Xi Sorority and was an avid Bunco Player. Survivors include her husband Everett Leon Rhoten; son, Michael Leon Rhoten and his wife Patricia of Charlestown; daughters, Kimberly McKinley of New Albany and Melissa Reed and her husband Brent of Charlestown; grandchildren, Matthew, Cara, Caitlin, Courtney, Trent and Braelyn; great-grandchild, Tinsley. Loretta was preceded in death by her parents, step-mother, Iva Brock; sisters, Virginia Hartley and Wanda Rigsby. Loretta’s funeral services will be held on Wednesday, August 14, 2019 at 11:00 A.M. at Bethany Christian Church with burial in Charlestown Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Tuesday from 3:00 to 7:00 P.M. at Grayson Funeral Home in Charlestown and after 9:00 A.M. Wednesday at her church. Expressions of sympathy in memory of Loretta may take the form of donations to Bethany Christian Church.
