Leonard Lee Ricketts, age 88, of Mason, Illinois passed away at 8:42 a.m. on Wednesday, August 21, 2019 at Lakeland Rehabilitation & Health Care Center in Effingham, Illinois. Graveside service will be at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, August 25, 2019 at Keen’s Chapel Cemetery in rural LaClede, Illinois with military rites observed. Brenda Byers will be officiating. Memorials may be made to Keen’s Chapel Cemetery or the donor’s choice. Leonard was born on July 10, 1931in Larkinsburg Twp., Illinois, the son of John and Bessie (Hoffman) Ricketts. He married Betty Mae Ingram on April 3, 1955 at Keen’s Chapel Church in rural LaClede, Illinois. He was a charter member of the Edgewood American Legion Post #1168. He is survived by his wife, Betty Ricketts of Mason, Illinois; son, Reg Ricketts (wife Deborah) of Mason, Illinois; daughters, Guyla Pagel (husband Rick) of rural Brownstown, Illinois and Lesa Hirtzel (husband Richard) of Watson, Illinois; five grandchildren, Mandi Bushur, Travis Pagel, Brett Pagel, Luke Hirtzel, Rindy Ricketts and nine great-grandchildren; brother-in-law, Bobby Ingram Sr. (wife Shirley) of Edgewood, Illinois and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Bessie Ricketts; brothers, Charlie, Albert, Roy, Oscar, and Bill Ricketts; sisters, Josephine Shreve and Clara Baker.
