Kenny Torres, AKA Hammer, died on August 15, 2019 at 4:36 a.m. Kenny was born in Brooklyn on December 6, 1957. His mother, Magdalia Soto gave birth to six boys: Michael, Tony, Kenny, Hector, David and Richard. She raised them in Brooklyn with her husband, Felix Torres. Kenny went to public school in Brooklyn up to the 11th grade. He had worked in the construction field. His first child was Christopher. Kenny loved going dancing and was very agile; possibly because of his mother, who put him in karate school. He had another nickname during his younger years in karate school which was Kenny Ken. In his adventurous dancing years in Brooklyn he lived near and knew John Travolta. One of his hangouts was 1001 Odyssey. Kenny got married in Brooklyn and had three children, Kenny, Eric and Felicity. All of his children have children, so he is a grandfather. The family then moved to the Lower East Side of Manhattan. He would at times declare his love for the Lower East Side. After many years he separated with his wife. I personally, Sandy S., his fiance could write about him forever because he was a very beautiful and interesting man. Many people loved him during his whole life. One of his attractions was that he was a very good-looking man: tanned, medium build with beautiful dark brown hair that never turned white and his big, brown eyes. In his later years Kenny had many physical complications. If you knew him, he was so strong that no one could notice. We all hope he is with his mother in God’s hands.
