Kenneth’s Obituary Kenneth Ray Boone, age 79, went to be with our Lord on Thursday, August 8, 2019. He was born November 13, 1939 in Tulia, Texas to parents Mildred May and Foy Elmo Boone. He was preceded in death by both parents. He was a 1958 graduate of Garland High School. Kenneth was employed with Kraft Foods while studying Math and Industrial Arts at Southwestern Missouri University where he obtained his Bachelor of Science Degree in 1966. He returned to his Alma Mater where he began his career instilling in young minds how to be creative and utilize their talents. He would talk about his students and how many of them are using those talents in their careers even today. In 1973, Kenneth continued to use his knowledge and love for repairing and building things when he moved to the GISD Maintenance Department as Assistant Maintenance Director for several years then to Director. Kenneth enjoyed being with his family, and he enjoyed being in the country fishing, mowing and just sitting by the pond observing nature’s beauty. He loved staying busy and believed that you should accomplish something every day no matter how small. Being in Colorado’s Rocky Mountains was his favorite pastime, enjoying the miracles of wild animals, a rainbow after a fresh rain, and his growing children and grandchildren made his heart full. He is survived by his wife, Connie Boone, his sister Barbara Bateman, his brother Bill Boone, his daughter Lisa Alexander and husband Tony, his daughter Melody Dickens and husband David, step-daughter Jennifer Borden and husband Brandon. He had 13 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren and one more on the way, nieces, nephews and a great nephew as well as many friends. He will be greatly missed!
