Kathleen’s Obituary Kathleen Rosalie Kent, 60, of Calabash, NC, died August 2, 2019 at her Calabash home after a long and hard-fought battle with breast cancer. Born in Frankfurt, Germany, she was the daughter of Sheldon Kent, Jr. and the late Rosalie (Giammatteo) Kent of Woodbridge, Virginia. Kathleen had a degree in Communications from American University in Washington, D.C. Her passions in life included reading, walking, and caring for her dogs, art, photography, feeding and watching the birds, flowers and floral arranging, traveling, meditation, “A Course in Miracles” book studies, and spending time with family and friends. Survivors include her husband, Kenneth E. Barker; her father, Sheldon S. Kent, Jr.,; a brother, James S. Kent (wife, Ellen P. Kent); niece, Sarah Kent; two nephews, Stephen Kent and Nicholas Kent A celebration of life will be held at a later date, and will be announced.
