Kari Vogele, 36, of Salem, NE, passed away August 23, 2019 at Salem. She was born November 6, 1982 at Falls City, NE to Mike and Vicki (Nussbaum) Simpson. She married Warren Vogele on October 31, 2013 at Salem, NE. Kari was raised at Salem and graduated Dawson-Verdon High School in 2001. Following graduation she worked at Sonic and when married the couple made their home in Salem and owned and operated the Big Red Inn at Salem. In 2016 she became ill due to kidney failure and was unable to work. She was a foster parents and an avid Chiefs fan. Kari is survived by her husband, Warren of Salem, father & step-mother, Mike and Krista Simpson of Ashland, NE, mother, Vicki Rowland her friend Tom Strecker of Falls City, step-father, Richard Rowland of Salem, siblings, Scott Rowland and his wife Chelsey of Lincoln, Kristen Russell and her son Tatum of Falls City, Shelby Simpson of Falls City, Heaven, Eboni and Frank Simpson all of Ashland, Amanda Alexander of Julesburg, CO, grandfather, Lyle Nussbaum of Falls City, grandmother, Mary Lou Hill of Falls City, uncles and aunts, Harold & Deb Nussbaum of Falls City, David & Kristen Simpson of Humboldt, NE, Mary Jo & Sam Liberty of Falls City. She was preceded in death by her grandmother, Lois Nussbaum and uncle, Ken Simpson. Her funeral will be held on Tuesday, August 27, 2019 at 10:30 AM at Dorr and Clark Funeral Home with Pastor Chad Berry officiating. Interment will be in Maple Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Monday from 7-8:00 PM at Dorr and Clark Funeral Home.
