John’s Obituary John Bettes Services for John Nevada Bettes, 67, of Stonewall are 1:00 p.m. Saturday at the Stonewall First Baptist Church, Randy McCall will officiate. Burial will follow at Pleasant Grove Cemetery. Mr. Bettes passed away Tuesday, August 20, 2019 at his home. He was born January 16, 1952 at Oklahoma City to John and Tommie Carter Bettes. Survivors include his wife, Freida, of the home; four sons, Johnny Bettes, Jr. and wife Courtney, Emery Bettes, Joey Bettes and wife Kelsey and Jerry Kyser; two daughters, Krystal Jobe and Cindy Johnson and husband Merl; three grandsons, Mikell Bettes, Diesel Bettes, and Gage Kyser; six granddaughters, Adalia Bettes, Katie Bettes, Elissa Bettes, JoJo Bettes, Bryanna Johnson and Alyssa Johnson; a great-granddaughter, Brinlee Bettes; five sisters, Theresa Glaze, Gale Jobe, Georgeanna Strapp, Twyla Bantar and Valerie Luttrell; one brother, Tony Bettes; several nieces and nephews; and six young men that Johnny mentored and adopted as his own sons: Bruce Powell, Randy McCall, Tom Hill, Dee Hernandez, Steve Partain and Jason Bryan. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Kay Bettes; his parents, John and Tommie Bettes; brother, Dale Bettes; and nephew, Ricky Strapp. Bearers will be Steve Partain, Bruce Powell, Tom Hill, Dee Hernandez, Mikell Bettes, Johnny Bettes, Jr., Emery Bettes and Joey Bettes.
