John’s Obituary John L. Nehrt, 93, of Crothersville, IN passed away at 12:30 PM on Wednesday, July 31, 2019 at Lutheran Community Home in Seymour, IN. Born January 27, 1926 in Crothersville, IN, he was the son of Homer and Lillie (Kiewit) Nehrt who preceded him in death. John was a 1944 graduate of Crothersville High School and served in the Army during World War II where he advanced to the rank of sergeant. On June 21, 1947 he married Clarice (Kovener) Nehrt, who survives. John worked at the American Can Company in Austin, IN for 44 years as a shipping and receiving clerk. He enjoyed woodworking, watching TV, doing word search and working jigsaw puzzles. He is survived by 3 children, Michael L. (Debra) Nehrt of Rock Spring, GA, Cynthia K. Cozart of Crothersville, IN and Holly (Kevin) Foster of Seymour, IN, 5 grandchildren, Tracy Graviet (Fiancé Tim Hicks) of Lafayette, GA, Neal Nehrt of Rock Spring, GA, Julie (Ryan) Delph of Seymour, IN, Devin (Carol) Cozart of Whiteland, IN and Drew Foster of Seymour, IN, 3 great grandchildren, Paige Graviet of Lafayette, GA, Michael Cozart and Mitchell Cozart of Whiteland, IN. He was preceded in death by a sister and brother-in-law, Carolyn and Orville Hackman and a son-in-law Michael L. Cozart. Pastor Bud Walther and Pastor David Schill will conduct funeral services at 11:00 AM on Saturday, August 3, 2019 at Immanuel United Church of Christ with burial to follow at Crothersville Cemetery. Friends may visit on Friday, August 2, 2019 from 4:00 until 7:00 PM at Adams Family Funeral Home & Crematory in Crothersville and from 10:00 AM until time of service on Saturday at the church.
