Obituary Joanette Ann Bourg Wallin, age 72, died peacefully in her sleep on Friday, August 2, 2019, after a lengthy battle with Alzheimer’s Disease. She was born March 18, 1947, in New Orleans, LA to Francis Bourg and Virginia Blanchard. She was raised by her mother and step-father, Irvin Kelly. She married the love of her life, Robert Winslow Wallin, on July 15, 1967, in Houma, LA. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple. She graduated from BYU with a degree in nursing. She spent her career as a nurse working for Intermountain Health Care where she was instrumental in the launch of IHC’s InstaCare program. She is a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. With her husband, Bob, she served in the Salt Lake Inner City Mission (twice), the Enugu Nigeria mission, and the Nauvoo Temple Mission. She also served a mission at the Family History Library. Her life, as her career, was spent in the service of others. She is survived by her husband, Robert Wallin, daughters Kelli Wallin, and Nicole Wallin Gentile (husband Jon Gentile), son Shane Robert Wallin, her precious grandchildren Gabriella (G) Smith, Nathanael (Nat) Wallin and Madeleine (Maud) Wallin, and her brothers Douglas Bourg, Houston, TX and Timothy Kelly, Houma, LA, as well as many extended family members and beloved friends. She was preceded in death by her parents and parents-in-law, Ralph and Marie Wallin. A viewing will be held Wednesday, August 7, 2019, from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Jenkins-Soffe Mortuary, 4760 S State St, Murray, UT. Funeral services will be held Thursday, August 8, 2019, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints Sugarhouse Ward, 1950 S 1200 E, in Salt Lake City at 11:00 a.m. Friends may visit at the church from 10:00 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. Internment at City View Memoriam, 1001 11th Ave, Salt Lake City, UT.
