Joan’s Obituary ANSONIA: Joan M. Verespie, age 66, peacefully entered into eternal rest on August 6, 2019, at Yale-New Haven Hospital, following a short illness. She was the beloved wife of Thomas J. Verespie. Mrs. Verespie was born in Milford on June 3, 1953, daughter of the late Joseph and Dolores Varzaly Yearsley. A resident of Ansonia for over thirty years, she was employed as the cafeteria manager at Mead School in Ansonia for twenty-five years, where she was affectionately known as “Miss Joan” to everyone. She enjoyed traveling and went on many cruises with her family. Joan loved her job, visiting the casino and especially spending time with her family and grandchildren. In addition to her husband Tim, she leaves to cherish her memory, a son, Scott M. Verespie (Diane) of Seymour, a daughter, Lori Faustine (Michael) of Torrington, brothers, Joseph Yearsley (Peggy) of Seymour and Kevin Yearsley (Laurel) of Plymouth, sisters, Patricia Maratea (Ray) of Meriden and Marcia Marseglia of N. Myrtle Beach, SC, cherished grandchildren, Molly Verespie, Emily Verespie, Shane Robinson and Natalie Verespie all of Seymour and several nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a memorial gathering on Tuesday August 13, 2019 from 4:00 to 7:00 pm in the chapel of the SPINELLI-RICCIUTI FUNERAL HOME, 62 Beaver Street in Ansonia.
