Jimmy Lee’s Obituary Jimmy “Lee” Dean 74, of Battle Creek, Michigan, born August 6, 1944 went to be with the Lord on July 26, 2019 Jimmy was a Union Ironworker for 20+ years and sang with the “Jimmy Lee Dean and the Bad News Band” for many years, living out his passion of singing and entertaining. After moving back from Texas with his wife Barbara, he was an avid sports fan of all his grandchildren. He lived to watch them and became a city wide “Papa Dean” to everyone. He never met a kid he didn’t love, and he never met a stranger. He was preceded in death by his father, Woodrow Wilson Dean; his mother, Georgia Mae Goodman; brother, Woodie Jr. Dean; stepbrother, Tommy Warner, and his beloved Wife, Barbara Louise Dean. He is survived by his children: Tammy (Joe) Reed, Teresa Dean (Chris), and Woodie (Heidi) Dean. grandchildren: Jimmy Reed, Romeo and Tyler Dudley, Samantha Golyar, Alexis Butler, Tanner and Taylor Dean and one great-grandchild, Allison Butler. Graveside services will be conducted 2:00 p.m. Thursday, August 1, 2019, at Antioch Cemetery near Hornbeak. Friends are asked to meet at the cemetery for the service. Edmaiston Mosley Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in his memory in honor of his wife Barbara to the American Cancer Society.
