Jesse E. Davis, Jr., age 84 of Bear, Delaware, formerly of St. George’s, Delaware, passed away on Thursday, August 8, 2019 at his home, surrounded by his loving family. He was raised in St. George’s, Delaware, son of the late Jesse E., Sr. and Kathryn B. Davis. Jesse married the love of his life, Beverly (Burris) Davis on September 9, 1962. They shared 56 years of marriage and set an example of true love for their children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was a train enthusiast and pioneer member of the Tri-State HiRailers Train Club. He also was an avid camper. He worked as a master carpenter and retired from Phillips Home Builders in 2001. Jesse is survived by his wife, Beverly Davis, daughter, Colleen Sullivan (Bill), son, Edward (Connie), son, Gregory (Wendy) and son, Mark (Kathy), nine grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren, and his sister, May Henry. A Memorial Service will be held on Tuesday, August 13, 2019 at 11:00 am at BEESON FUNERAL HOME, 2053 Pulaski Highway, Newark, DE 19702. A visitation will be held prior to the service from 10:00 to 11:00 am. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Jesse’s honor to the Delaware Down Syndrome Association (DSA), PO Box 747, Middletown, DE 19709 or at www.DSADelaware.org.
