Jared David Tetz, born on October 8, 1981, passed away August 7, 2019, at the age of 37 in Brandon (right outside of Tampa), Florida. Jared was an avid reader, writer, and entrepreneur; he particularly enjoyed health and fitness, as well as alternative health approaches. Jared’s first and foremost passion was his love for the sport of lacrosse. He was a four-year Varsity athlete in lacrosse at Kennebunk High School. He played for Alfred University and the University of New England where he played NCAA D3 Commonwealth coast conference Lacrosse. After four more years in the north playing, post-collegiate semi-professional lacrosse. Jared moved to Tampa, in November of 2011 and began coaching and officiating lacrosse. He was a lacrosse coach for multiple youth and high school organizations including West Florida Lacrosse, The Clash, South Tampa Sticks, and Wharton High School. He was a member of the American Lacrosse League, Team Fuego Semi-Pro men’s travel lacrosse, and All Masters Florida State Champion 2019 team. He had a love for making people feel and look their best. He was an ACE certified personal trainer, a Crossfit Level 1, and Crossfit mobility Level 1 Certified Instructor. Jared was also trained in IASTM (instrument assisted soft tissue manipulation) therapy, Thai Massage, Powerlifting, Olympic weightlifting, yoga, strength training, bodybuilding, postural correction, biomechanics, nutrition, and enjoyed vitality optimization. Jared invented a mobility device called the “Vertex” a soft tissue mobility device to help people in many ways. Jared worked for many years in both corporate and family-owned restaurants. He enjoyed meeting people and enjoyed using his people skills and unique ability to communicate with all people and walks of life and make a positive experience with everyone he encountered. A constructive teacher, he shared all of his knowledge with friends and family alike. He was a very caring and selfless friend to everyone he met. His father David J. Tetz, D.O. predeceased him. He is survived by his mother, Brooke (Sullivan) Tetz and her partner Michael Lewko, sister Kristin L. (Tetz) Graczyk and her husband, Jade, niece Isabella, and nephew David Graczyk, all of Kennebunk, ME. Grandparents John and Verna Tetz of Delaware, OH. He also leaves behind his uncle Dr. James Tetz, and his wife, Nancy, his Aunt Donna Kavo and her husband Edward, cousins Brad, his wife Natalie, Zach and wife Michelle, and extended family. As well as many close friends and his dog Mia, whom he dearly loved. The family would like to thank all friends and family who supported Jared and loved him. A special thanks to Power Home Remodeling of Tampa and Malio’s Restaurant in Tampa, for hosting a celebration of life party in Jared’s honor on the evening of August 10th. The family is planning a 5k in honor of Jared and a Celebration of Life to be held on October 5th, 2019 in Kennebunk, ME (details to be confirmed soon). A private interment will be in the Arundel Cemetery at a later date buried next to his father.
