Janet L. Jenks, 73, of Elbridge, NY, passed away peacefully in her sleep on August 13, 2019. Janet was born on February 15, 1946 in Toledo, Ohio to Lloyd and Olive Perkins. She graduated from Bowling Green High School and Bowling Green State University. She was an elementary school teacher in the Jordan-Elbridge School District for over 30 years. Janet enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, gardening and playing games. Janet was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She is survived by her daughter Amanda (Dirk) van Heyst, son Nathan (Mark) Jenks, and daughter Rebecca (Ted) Krenrich; her grandchildren Ryan, Ally and Emma van Heyst; her brother Tom (Lorraine) Perkins; and her many nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her husband of 44 years, Tom Jenks, her parents, her brother, Alvin Perkins, and her sister, Shirley Oldham. A graveside memorial service will be held on Saturday, August 24 at 11am at Maple Grove Cemetery in Jordan, NY immediately followed by a lunch reception for family and friends at the White Church in Elbridge. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Jordan-Elbridge Dollars for Scholars: 5721 Hamilton Road, PO Box 92, Jordan, NY 13080 or www.jordan-elbridge.dollarsforscholars.org
