James “J.R.”‘s Obituary James “J.R.” R. Kelley, age 81, of Hammond, Indiana, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, August 28, surrounded by his family. Beloved husband for 60 years to E. Louise Kelley nee Brown. Loving father of Mary Kelley, Rodney (Pamela) Kelley, Pamela (David) Kelley-Stewart and Rebecca Jane Kelley. Proud grandfather of 9. Dearest great-grandfather of 2 with 1 on the way. Fond uncle, cousin and friend to many. He was preceded in death by his parents James Luther Kelley and Ruby Anne Kelley nee Flowers and his siblings Annie Pearl Hill, Bobbie Capps, Mattie Sue Morgan, Mae Elizabeth Martin, Robert Earl Kelley and Evelyn Simpson. J.R. married the love of his life, Louise, on May 17, 1959. He retired in 2000 from Maizo and ere Star. J.R. never met a body of water he didn’t boat on, a deer he never hunted or a road he didn’t RV with his love Louise. He was a member of the Moose Lodge 828. J.R. was most proud of his title of “Grandpa”. Whenever possible J.R. and Louise would be cutting a rug because ballroom dancing was their passion. A Celebration of J.R.’s life will be held on Saturday, August 31, 2019 from 3:00 PM until 8:00 PM at LaHAYNE FUNERAL HOME, 6955 Southeastern Ave., Hammond, Indiana. The interment will in at Bethsaida Baptist Cemetery in Boaz, Alabama.
