Helen O’Brien Ashwill Of Arlington Heights Helen O’Brien Ashwill nee Swanell, 90 of Arlington Heights (former long-time resident of Naples, FL) passed away peacefully on August 24, 2019. She was born on January 31, 1929 in Chicago, Illinois to Thomas and Helen Pearl (nee Chance) Swanell. Helen lived a vibrant life full of family, friends and community. In Florida, Helen was active with the Immokalee Foundation where she focused on early childhood literacy education; in Arlington Heights she was a patron, student and actress at the Metropolis Performing Arts Centre. Helen was the loving mother of Maureen (James) Rogers, Morgan (Janeen) O’Brien Jr. and Susanne (Randy) Stack; cherished grandmother of Megan (Mino) Zaccaro, Michael Rogers, Erin O’Brien, Rachel O’Brien, Patrick (Aline) Starck and Jenna (Dave) Brown; and dearest great grandmother of Noah and Hannah O’Brien. Helen was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 21 years, Morgan O’Brien Sr. as well as her parents. Memorial Visitation Wednesday, August 28, 2019 from 10:00 am until time of Memorial Service at 12:00 pm at Glueckert Funeral Home Ltd., 1520 North Arlington Heights Road, (4 blocks south of Palatine Rd.)
