Hoover 83 of Linglestown, went home to be with the Lord, on August 18, 2019 from his home surrounded by his loving family. Born in Conway, son of the late Catherine Hoover Edmundson and George Hoover Sr. Mr. Hoover was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. In addition to his years of work at PPG, Harry served his community as a Navy veteran during the Korean Conflict, Scoutmaster and Committee Chair of Boy Scout Troop 68 for over 50 years, Little League Baseball Coach, volunteer for American Lung Association, and Trustee for Linglestown Life U.M. Church. Harry loved the people in his extended community. Mr. Hoover was preceded in death by his brother George Hoover, Jr. and sisters, Margaret Fry and Doris Kuric. Harry is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Eileen, his daughter Susan Spear and four sons, Ronald, Todd, Jeffrey, and Mark. He wishes a lifetime of joy for his 8 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, August 22, 2019 at 11 AM at the Linglestown Life United Methodist Church. The Rev. George Reynolds will be officiating. Burial will be in the Willow Grove Cemetery. A viewing will be held on Wednesday, from 6 to 8 P.M. at the Hoover Funeral Home, 6011 Linglestown Rd., Harrisburg and on Thursday from 10 to 11 A.M. at the church prior to the service. Memorial contributions may be made to Linglestown Life United Methodist Church, 1430 N. Mountain Rd., Harrisburg, PA 17112.
