Geraldine “Gerry”‘s Obituary Geraldine R. “Gerry” Bauer, 83 years, of Fremont, NE passed away Sunday, August 18, 2019 at Hooper Care Center in Hopper, NE. She was born on December 23, 1935 in Page, NE to Alfred and Rose (Bohn) Bauer. She moved to the Deloit community to attend St. John’s Catholic Church. After the death of her father and brother the family moved to Ewing, NE where she graduated Ewing High School in 1953. She attended Norfolk Junior College, now known as Northeast Community College and UNL in Lincoln. Geraldine worked as a executive secretary at several banks, in Norfolk, Lincoln, and Casper ,WY. She retuned to Lincoln and worked Innerspace in Lincoln retiring in 1998 and at Crete Carriers Inc. retiring in 2003. After that she did part time work at Hovland-Swanson Dept Store, Keough’s Furniture and St. Mary’s Catholic Church. Later she came to Fremont to be near family. Geraldine was a member of St Patrick Catholic Church, St Patrick Women and Catholic Daughters, a former member of St Mary’s Catholic Church in Lincoln, St. Mary’s Altar Society and held many offices. She was a former member of American Business Woman and Administrative Assistant Association. She is survived by sisters, Catherine “Cathy” Chapman of Fremont, NE, and Mary Ann (Doug) Shrader of Hanover Park, IL; sister-in law, Deb Bauer of Bennington, NE; nieces and nephews, Michele (Dennis) Anderson, Omaha, Janet (Chris) Larsen, Fremont, Debra (Steve) Vonderfecht, Lathrop, MO, Monica (Marty) Pfannes, Kansas City, MO, Chad (Angie) Bauer, Louisville, KS, Bras (Charisse) Shrader, Goodyear, AZ, Michael (Chayla) Shrader, Mahaska, IL, Trevor (Kim) Shrader, Pecatonica, IL and 16 great nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Louis and Jerry Bauer; brother-in-law, Marty Chapman and nephew Wade Bauer. Funeral Mass 10 AM, Friday August, 23, 2019 at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Fremont. The Rev. Father Bill Cremers will officiate. Visitation will be 5-7 PM, Thursday with a Catholic Daughters Rosary at 7 PM all at Moser Memorial Chapel in Fremont. Interment will be at 2:30 PM Friday at Vandersnick Cemetery near Ewing, Nebraska.
