Gene’s Obituary Gene Phillips Celebration of Life for Gene Harley Phillips, 80, of Roff, will be Sunday, September 1, 2019 from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. at the Roff Student Center. Mr. Phillips passed away Thursday, August 22, 2019 at his home with family and friends present. He was born June 14, 1939 at Fitzhugh to Charles A. and Rachel A. Hobgood Phillips. Gene married Linda A. Williams on May 28, 1958 at Ada. He had several jobs in other states until coming back to Roff. He’s remembered as being a jack-of-all trades. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and playing dominoes. Gene was a volunteer firefighter with the Roff Fire Department for 10 years. Survivors include his wife, Linda, of the home; his daughters, Genia Phillips, Roff, Cheryll McCarn and husband Carl, Davis and Lisa Anderson, Fittstown; his grandchildren, Chris and Krystina Phillips, Becki Hankins, Robert Phillips, Dustin and Ashley Kirk, Ashley and Josh Utley, Julie Pennington, McKenzie and Jed Smith, Spencer Phillips and Melody Stokes; his sister, Mary L. Mays; brother, Charles Phillips; four wonderful nephews and six nieces; 10 great-nephews; and three great-nieces; 23 amazing great-grandkids; and one great-great-granddaughter. He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Randall Phillips; and siblings, Earl E. Phillips, Pat Files and Murl D. Phillips. Read More
